Adventures in Loch Lomond

What an amazing day we had!! As most Scots know, Glasgow is always a rainy place. So as we took the bus from Edinburgh, where it was sunny and warm, to Glasgow on the way to Loch Lomond, we were hit with a cold chill, clouds and mist. Oh well, it added to the adventure.

Leaving on the bus. Iulia and Jennifer were ready at the bus before it left by 10 minutes ... I was there by 2 minutes. But I made it!! ;)
The bus stopped at the village of Luss, which is on the west bank of Loch Lomond.
The distance from Musselburgh to Luss.

Us standing at the pier ready to go to the island of Inchailloch

On the boat!!
Iulia enjoying the view. The mist made it seem so magical!!
One of the islands (Inchconachan Island) is inhabited by wallabies, yes, small kangaroos!!  I don't know how they have climatized to the cold temperatures, but they apparently had reproduced too many times that unfortunately some have to be killed to protect the native wildlife.

Walking off the boat onto the island Inchailloch
A beautiful stretch of beach on the island
Interesting root structure
Walking up a hill to get an awesome view of other islands in Loch Lomond
We met with some Taiwanese QMU students, who also joined Iulia tours

Second difficult attempt of a selfie (friendsie) to capture the view as well as us
Finally got some one else to take the photo ;)
Walking down the hill. Iulia was our amazing tour guide, who had thoughtfully and meticulously planned out our entire day so that we could make the most of the trip :D

On land again!! Iulia planned to go on the heritage walk around the village of Luss. What Iulia didn't know was that it was also a fairy tour, where we followed fairy dust, saw fairy doors in all the trees and was following lots of little girls and boys wearing fairy wings <3

Now it was just the three BFFs

On the bus back to QMU!! Iulia gave me half of her chocolate cake :D I then fell asleep ;)
After wards we got back, had something to eat, and then we decided to watch a movie to finish off our amazingly adventurous day.

Watching Murder on the Orient Express for the second time. What an amazing movie!!
Till next time,

Laura xx
